ROCKLIN, Calif. (KCRA) — A woman leading a Rocklin school’s booster club was arrested Thursday morning in connection with embezzling money from the nonprofit, officials said.
Crystal Disho was taken into custody around 6:50 a.m. outside her Fair Oaks home, Rocklin police said.
Disho was a board member for the Parent Falcon Club at Granite Oaks Middle School, principal Jay Holmes said. Last week, discrepancies were discovered in the PFC bank account. Holmes said police were notified immediately.
During the investigation, officers found Disho got a PFC debit card without approval from the group’s board and spent more than $10,000 on personal expenses that were unrelated to the association, police said.
After Disho’s arrest, she was questioned by investigators and then booked into Placer County Jail. Police said Disho faces charges related to embezzlement.
In a letter to Granite Oaks Middle School parents, Holmes said funds from a recent event, a coffee fundraiser, were not impacted.
“Moving forward, our Parent Falcon Club has placed new systems in place to ensure this doesn't happen again,” Holmes said.
